In an effort to rectify the recent supply chain disruption caused by an incident at a key supplier's facility, Toyota has decided to extend the partial production halt at certain group plants until the upcoming Monday. This temporary pause in manufacturing activities was prompted by a significant accident that occurred at Chuo Spring, one of Toyota's essential component suppliers.

As part of the strategic recovery plan, Toyota announced on Friday that production will resume at five production lines located within four different plants on Monday, October 23. These lines had previously been brought to a standstill due to the repercussions of the accident that took place earlier in the week at Chuo Spring. Simultaneously, the automaker confirmed that eight other production lines across six distinct plants will continue to remain suspended.

Among the production lines that will remain inactive is one situated at Toyota's Takaoka plant, along with lines at plants operated by affiliated entities like Toyota Industries, Toyota Auto Body, and Gifu Auto Body.

In response to the unfortunate incident, Chuo Spring, a pivotal manufacturer of engine, valve, and other springs, issued a statement indicating their intention to restart production at their accident-affected facility following the necessary equipment repairs. They anticipate resuming the supply of components to their valued customers starting next week. This move is expected to contribute significantly to the overall stabilization of Toyota's production processes, alleviating the recent disruptions and ensuring the continuation of their vehicle manufacturing operations.

Toyota remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency in its production processes, even in the face of unexpected challenges in the supply chain. The decision to extend the partial production halt at select group plants until Monday represents a proactive approach to swiftly resolve the issues arising from the supplier's accident, further reinforcing Toyota's position as a leading and resilient automotive manufacturer.
