Toyota Kirloskar Motor is planning to add an adventurous lifestyle vehicle, the Hilux pickup truck, to its Fortuner and Innova Crysta lineups in India. The 2021 Hilux is likely to arrive in the nation in 2022, according to Toyota. The pickup vehicle was sighted on Indian roads over the weekend, possibly before of its launch.

On Sunday, many netizens noticed a red Toyota Hilux. It was most likely brought out for a commercial shoot, as indicated by social media posts, with another vehicle behind it with cameras attached on top. Toyota may debut the Hilux in India as early as the first month of the new year. Hilux has been a popular model for Toyota since its debut in 1968, with more than 18 million units sold globally.

The IMV-2 platform supports the 2021 Toyota Hilux facelift model, which was recently released in global markets. The Fortuner SUV and the Toyota Innova Crysta are both built on the same platform. A 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine is connected to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission unit in the Hilux model marketed in global markets.

The Hilux is regarded as a competent off-roader with various comfort and convenience amenities in the interior, allowing it to function as a lifestyle vehicle as well. Ambient lighting, auto air conditioning, an eight-inch touchscreen screen, and JBL speakers are among the features. In India, the Toyota Hilux is expected to share several essential components with the Fortuner and be priced about Rs. 30 lakh. In terms of rivalry, the Hilux will face up against the Isuzu V-Cross.
