Mumbai: In the bustling city of Mumbai, relentless rains have wreaked havoc, causing a road to collapse near IT Park in the Goregaon area on a fateful Tuesday. This unfortunate event has led to the suspension of one-way traffic due to road subsidence.

Adding to the woes, a village nestled on a hill slope in Khalapur tehsil, Raigad district, approximately 80 km from Mumbai, faced a landslide around 11 p.m. on a somber Wednesday night.

Amidst the tragedy, there shines a glimmer of hope in the form of Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde. Upon hearing about the children who lost both parents in the recent landslide at Irshalwadi village, he embraced them, expressing his commitment to adopting and caring for them personally. This touching gesture was reported by the Shiv Sena.

CM Eknath Shinde didn't stop there; he visited the site of the disaster to assess the rescue efforts and relief operations firsthand. During his visit, he also announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased, providing some solace in these trying times.

The calamity did not escape the attention of the Prime Minister either. Maharashtra CM Shinde took it upon himself to inform Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the gravity of the situation caused by the incessant rainfall, leading to floods and landslides.

After meeting with PM Modi and discussing the situation, CM Shinde stated, "I apprised the Prime Minister of the prevailing situation following a landslide at Irshalwadi, a tribal village surrounded by the Sahyadri mountains in Raigad district."

Mumbai's recent events serve as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of life and the need for compassion and solidarity during times of crisis.
