Shimla: The tragic incident unfolded on Thursday evening when a car carrying several occupants met with a devastating accident along the Luhri-Sunni road near Mahol in the Kumarsein subdivision of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The vehicle, driven by an individual who lost control, veered off the road and plunged into the Sutlej river. This unfortunate turn of events resulted in the loss of lives, including a couple identified as Jitesh and Vanshika, as well as another individual named Abhay Kumar.
Apart from the fatalities, two passengers named Rahul and Anshul sustained injuries in the crash. Immediate response efforts were initiated to transport the injured parties to the Civil Hospital in Kumarsain. Subsequently, they were shifted to the Mahatma Gandhi Medical Service Complex in Khaneri, Rampur, for further medical attention.
In response to the incident, local authorities swiftly deployed a police team to the accident site. Their operations included the recovery of the deceased bodies, rescue efforts for the injured, and the initiation of investigative procedures. Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi confirmed the registration of a case in connection with the accident, with ongoing investigations aimed at understanding the exact sequence of events leading to this tragic occurrence.
