Lucknow: In a tragic accident in the Salempur police station area of Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, a bus and a pickup truck, locally known as a Max vehicle, collided head-on. The crash resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals and left 37 others injured.
The incident occurred when the bus and Max vehicle collided, causing severe damage to both vehicles. Upon receiving the distress call, the local police, accompanied by villagers, rushed to the scene. They promptly transported the injured to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were taken into custody by the authorities and sent for post-mortem examinations. Bulandshahr District Magistrate CP Singh confirmed the fatalities and the number of injured. He reported that the collision between the bus and the Max vehicle had been catastrophic. The injured individuals have been admitted to the hospital, where their conditions are being monitored.
Following the accident, family members of the deceased and local residents arrived at the site, expressing their anger and distress. This led to a roadblock as the protesters demanded justice and accountability. The police intervened, negotiating with the protesters to disperse and clear the road, restoring normalcy to the area. A video circulating on social media shows the extent of the damage from the accident. In the footage, the Max vehicle is shown completely wrecked, with debris scattered across the road. The video also captures the large crowd that gathered at the accident site. The police have also impounded the bus involved in the crash as part of their investigation.
The authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident and have pledged to provide support to the affected families. The incident has brought to light the pressing need for enhanced road safety measures to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
