The group, consisting of eight people from Karnataka, was on their way back to Bengaluru after a visit to a temple in Tiruvannamalai.

The devastating accident transpired when their vehicle collided head-on with a truck, leading to the tragic loss of seven lives, as reported by the local authorities. Among the victims were a woman and two children. One person from the group sustained injuries in the accident and has been transported to a hospital for medical care.

The collision resulted in extensive damage to the car, necessitating the dismantling of the vehicle to retrieve the bodies of the deceased. In the aftermath of the accident, the driver of the truck fled the scene. Authorities have initiated efforts to locate the driver, issuing a lookout notice.
