Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI has issued Telecommunication Tariff (65th Amendment) Order 2020 'to benefit crores of mobile users of the country during the lockdown. Under this draft, now users can send more than 100 SMS to other users without any limit. At the same time, TRAI has said that we have abolished the specific provision.

In which telecom companies used to charge 50 paise on every message after 100 SMS from consumers. After this decision of TRAI, now telecom companies can give more than 100 SMS in a day to consumers. Earlier, telecom companies used to provide 100 SMS a day to their consumers.

If users were to end this limit early, companies would charge them 50 paise for every SMS. In the year 2012, TRAI implemented the rule of charging 50 paise after 100 SMS. On this, TRAI said that we have taken this step to stop spam messages. Also, our users will benefit greatly from this. However, now TRAI has removed this rule.
