Amaravati: On Monday, train services on the Chennai-Vijayawada major trunk route remained disrupted due to heavy rains and floods in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore region. Railway authorities have announced the cancellation of many trains for the second day in a row. According to the South Central Railway, 13 trains have been cancelled due to significant inflow of water between Padugupadu and Nellore in the Vijayawada Division.

The following trains have been cancelled: Vijayawada - Chennai Central, Vijayawada - Gudur, Gudur -Vijayawada, Bilaspur - Ernakulam, Chamarajanagar - Mysuru, Kolhapur SCSMT - Tirupati, Yesvantpur - Howrah, KSR Bengaluru - Kakinada Town, Yesvantpur - Patliputra, Chennai Central Meanwhile, the down line between Gudur and Vijayawada has been reopened to traffic due to a decrease in water flow over the track.

Eleven trains that were previously diverted will now run on their regular routes. On November 19, a few of these trains began their journey. Bhubaneswar-Bengaluru Cantt, New Tinsukia-Bengaluru, Jaipur-Chennai Central, New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram, and H. Nizamuddin-Chennai Central are among the trains that will travel on a regular itinerary.

On Sunday, more than 40 trains were cancelled due to damage to the railway track or flooding. The damaged track has been repaired and restored by the railway administration.
