Patna: A one-day training program on 'Children Budget Preparation' was organized by the Department of Bihar in association with UNICEF and Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI). The purpose of this program was to strengthen the child budget formation of the Bihar government. Right now 16 departments are giving information about their budget and expenditure in the Children Budget document.
CEPPF in Training, Assistant Professor of Adri. Dr Barna Ganguly has given information about the main findings of UNICEF, Department of Finance and Research of Adri. They brainstormed on the objectives of the program. He told that there are many shortcomings in the process of child budget formation. They need to be removed. This will reveal a strong document. The training program will guide the budget officials in compiling data for the child budget document.
Sanjeev Mittal, Deputy Secretary, Finance Department of Bihar discussed the basic points of budget formation. He stressed that the children's budget is included in the main budget. There is a need to focus on its expenditure through accounting heads. Deputy Secretary Ajay Thakur kept his talk focused on the types of programs included in the Children Budget document. Both plan and non-plan expenses should be included to indicate total expenditure.
