Google's email service Gmail is one of the most popular online services. With the creation of email IDs on Google, users get access to the rest of the products and 15 GB of space on Google Drive. Google also provides several options for protecting its users' Gmail accounts, and it requires users to verify their accounts multiple times with the help of a contact number. When you create your account on Gmail, Google asks you to verify the contact number. Google uses this number to allow you to send OTP (One Time Password) and create a new password in case you forget the password. In addition, you can also turn on 2-factor authentication on your account, so you need to enter an SMS-sent PIN on your number when you log in to the new device. This makes the account more secure.

You may want to link your contact number to a Google account or when you create an account. Also, up to five Gmail accounts can be linked to a contact number. In this case, you have the option to create a Gmail account even without sharing a contact number. If you want to create a Gmail account without giving your number, follow these steps on your phone and PC, open the Gmail app on your smartphone or visit the Gmail login page in the browser. Tap 'Create Account' here. Now tap on the 'Next' button to enter your first name and last name. You'll then need to tap 'Next' after revealing the date of birth and gender. Here you'll be given the option to choose the username and create a password for it in the next step. Your account will then be created on Gmail and you will be able to log in.

For your information, first, open the Gmail homepage in the browser. Click on 'Create Account' at the bottom of the sign in the window. Now click next after entering your name, username, and password in the revealed page. You are asked to fill in the contact number and alternate email ID but it is not necessary. After filling in the remaining details without filling in the contact number, click on the Sign-Up or Submit button. Without contact number, your account will be ready and you will be able to log in.
