In the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), led by Kieron Pollard, claimed their 10th consecutive victory. He has defeated the tournament's laggard team St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SNP) by 9 wickets in their last league match. In the second match played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, St Lucia Jocks have beaten Jamaica Tallahage (JT) by 11 runs. 

The semifinal line-up of the 8th Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has been prepared. In fact, the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) team, which is at the top of the points table, is due to face the fourth-ranked Jamaica Tallaharaz (JT) on September 8. There are reports of second-place Gaana Ajagam Warriors (GAW) being in the second semi-final with the third-ranked St Lucia Jocks (SLZ).

The Trinbago Knight Riders team, which has been winning the tournament so far, dropped St Kitts and Nevis Patriots team for 77 runs in 18.2 overs last Sunday. In the meantime, Australian leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed took 4 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs, while Praveen Tambe took 1 success by giving away just 9 runs in 4 overs. Knight Riders were 78/1 in 11.3 overs to put their victory ahead. In the last league match, St Lucia Jocks batted first and scored 145/6. In response, Jamaica's Tallahas was able to score 134/9 runs in the stipulated overs and lost the match by 11 runs. But now the Jamaica team is going to come to the semi-finals with the fourth position.
