Tripura Schools to re-functions for Classes 6 to 12 from August 25. The decision to reopen schools has been taken by the State School Education Department. Tripura Government has said that schools will reopen with adherence to proper COVID-19 protocols by the students and the educational institutes.

According to guidelines, If schools do not have adequate space, they should run classes in double shifts. 50% of students will be permitted in each shift. The detailed standard of protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has already been released by the Tripura government. Meanwhile, the government has already allowed the reopening of hostels and colleges in the state from August 25, 2021. However, colleges and hostels will be permitted to resume classes by following the strict protocols released by Higher Education Director NC Sharma.

According to the official notice released by the Department of Education, the government decided to reopen schools after the decline in COVID-19 cases in the state and consider the students' learning loss. Since schools have not started classes 1 to 5, teachers of those classes will be arranged for Classes 6 to 8 so as to implement the Notun Disha campaign, initiated by the state government in the schools. The initiative aims to improve the academic strength of students in elementary education.
