Tripura CM Biplab Dev has expelled Health Minister Sudip Roy Burman from his cabinet. According to a state government report,  Burman has been removed from the cabinet on Friday. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) two years ago. About a week ago, Deb had warned taking action against the "enemies inside the BJP".

A leader has claimed in the condition of not disclosing the name, that 56-year-old Burman was taken out of the cabinet due to "anti-party activities". However, Burman has not been able to contact. It has been said, in the notification issued late last night on behalf of the General Administration Department (Confidential and Cabinet), that the departments of Burman had been handed over to CM and Deputy CM Jishnu Devvarma. Burman has been a five-time legislator. He has also been the leader of the Opposition and the President of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee.

He joined the TMC party in 2016 and then joined the BJP in 2017 with some Congress MLAs. BJP spokesman Nabendu Bhattacharya said that the party was demanding a change in cabinet. He has said, "When the new Cabinet of the BJP-IPF coalition government took oath, three posts were vacant. With the departure of Burman, another post was vacant in the Cabinet. "
