As we all know, farmers called 'Bharat Band' on Tuesday. Trs Working President and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao said the TRS participated in the Bharat Bandh to show solidarity with farmers protesting at the direction of Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The Minister, who participated in the Rasto Rocco programme on the Hyderabad-Bangalore National Highway near Shadnagar, stressed the need to educate the people of the country and give full support to the farmers who are feeding the country. "We all have to stand up with farmers," he said, "people have the right to protest if they disagree with the government's decisions. Pointing out that the TRS fought against agricultural laws in Parliament, the TRS Working President bulldozed the Bills and used its power in the House to pass it. While the Chief Minister is supporting farmers through farmerbandhu and ritu insurance schemes, the centre has not guaranteed minimum support price (MSP) in the new agricultural laws, he said. "There is no MSP idea in the new law. If the Centre does not announce support prices, private syndicates and cartels are likely to cheat farmers citing low prices," he warned.

Rama Rao believes that the stock limit stipulated under the 'Essentials Commodities Act' has been amended in the new agricultural laws. As a result, he feared that merchants could create artificial shortages and raise prices. "It is harmful to farmers and consumers," he said. He said the Centre was trying to control the rights of states in agriculture. TRS Secretary-General and Parliamentary Party leader K. Kesava Rao, Minister V. Srinivas Goud, former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and other senior TRS leaders also participated in the protests.
