Trump Appoints Former ICE Director Tom Homan as US Border Czar

US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Tom Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will be appointed as the country’s “Border Czar” in his upcoming administration. Homan’s role will include overseeing the country’s borders, including the Southern and Northern Borders, along with maritime and aviation security.

Homan, who served in Trump’s first term for over a year, has been a key figure in the president-elect's immigration policies. He is also being considered for the position of secretary of homeland security. Trump has made cracking down on illegal immigration a central focus of his campaign, and Homan has been a vocal advocate for stricter border control and mass deportations. Throughout the campaign, Trump often praised Homan’s efforts, and Homan actively supported Trump by rallying voters across the country.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized that Homan’s responsibilities would include overseeing the deportation of illegal immigrants. As part of his preparation for taking office, Trump is meeting with potential candidates to fill key positions in his administration before his inauguration on January 20.

It was aloso reported that Trump has offered Republican Representative Elise Stefanik the position of US ambassador to the United Nations.
