The number of Covid-19 cases caused by the Omicron version was greatest in Istanbul, according to Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, but infections in the city have reduced by 62% in the last ten days, according to media reports. Koca stated in a statement following discussions of the coronavirus research board that the situation is similar in other Turkish cities.
According to Koca, hospitalizations due to the virus have dropped by 28% in the last week, indicating that the country's health capacity is not overloaded. On Thursday, the Turkish Health Ministry announced 92,406 new Covid-19 cases and 258 new Covid-19 deaths.
