Turkish police detain 9 IS suspects in Istanbul

 Nine suspected members of the Islamic State (IS) detained by Turkish police on Friday.

According to the media report, The police launched an operation to detain the nine suspects. The police raided 10 locations across the city to capture those allegedly involved in terror activities.  Those targeted in operations were active IS terrorists in Syria and Iraq, and later entered Turkey illegally. The eight of them were foreign nationals.

As per the report, Police seized organizational documents and digital materials during the raids. The terror outfit has been blamed for a spate of deadly attacks in Turkey since 2015.

Earlier, Turkish police on Wednesday arrested 30 people over their alleged links to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Turkey. The arrests came after Istanbul prosecutors issued arrest warrants for 31 suspects as part of a probe into the terror group, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
