JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Friday, according to local media.

"My visit symbolises our shared desire to usher in a new era of collaboration between our two sister nations. We will work hard to kick off a new era of improved relations between our two nations in all areas, including politics, the military, the economy, and culture "In a report, the Saudi Press Agency reported Erdogan as saying.

"Increasing our cooperation with Saudi Arabia in areas including healthcare, energy, food security, agricultural technology, defence industry, and finance is in our mutual interest. We appear to have a lot of potentials, especially in terms of renewable and green energy "Added the President.

The killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi damaged relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, according to news reports. Turkish officials claimed Khashoggi was assassinated by a team of Saudi agents.

Ankara has recently attempted to repair relations with Riyadh and other Gulf Arab states.
