Crimes action rules the roost, irrespective of boundaries.  It is in the midst that the  Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested TV actor Preetika Chauhan and another man from Mumbai’s Versova for allegedly possessing marijuana and produced before the court. The team detained 99 grams of Ganja from Preetika and the man named Faisal. The Narcotics Control Bureau has launched a crackdown on the Bollywood-drug nexus case. Earlier today, the agency conducted a raid in Andheri and arrested four persons.

As per the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Mumbai has come out as a key destination for drugs. The NCB has launched anti-drug operations to lift the drug traffickers. Of late, one kg of cocaine, 2 kg of Phencyclidine, 29.300 kg MDA and 70 Gms of Mephedrone, also known as meow, was seized from Mumbai. In another operation, 56 kg of Hashish was seized at Jammu whose main receiver was arrested from Mumbai.

The NCB is keeping an eye on trade routes and the agency has also informed the Customs Department and other agencies about the latest technique of the smugglers to smuggle drugs from foreign countries concealed in different items.  Busting several such rackets in the last few months, the NCB captured many drug consignments hidden in an air compressor machine, in metal piston, stuffed in tailoring material among several others. In the last three months, the NCB seized several drug parcels coming from foreign countries. Earlier, in February, the NCB arrested a drug trafficker for shipping hundreds of psychotropic drug parcels abroad through the darknet which is a hidden internet platform which not visible to search engines or govt agencies.
