It’s party time for Ritwika Gupta and Stendor Sorout as the two have entered into marital bliss. Ritwika as we all know is a popular digital creator and TV anchor while Sorout is an architect and filmmaker. The two took to social media to announce their wedding and also shared a few adorable snaps of their marriage registration in Mumbai. The couple looked no less than a match made in heaven.
Talking to us, Ritwika revealed how the pair decided to go ahead with a small marriage registration instead of a big fat Indian wedding. She said, “My family lives in Singapore and they haven’t eased travel restrictions. Given the circumstances, we wanted to avoid any big celebration and wait for the situation to get better and then celebrate. It felt strange not having both our families around but our parents insisted we do the registry this year and a proper ceremony next year”.
The couple had been dating for 3 years before tying the knot. They met at the Mumbai Film Festival (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) and hit it off instantly, given both are die-hard cinephiles.
In January 2020, Sorout proposed to Ritwika at The Taj Mahal. It doesn't get more romantic than that.
“A visit to the beautiful Taj Mahal was a wonderful way to begin our new chapter. We managed to do so, right before the lockdown. Now, going to the Taj Mahal seems like a far-fetched dream given how Covid has taken hold with umpteen travel restrictions”, she shares.
Speaking of the path headed work-wise, Ritwika tells us that she will continue doing what she loves doing and be proud of it. The beautiful Bengali girl, who hails from Singapore, is also an extremely graceful dancer and loves to create good content for her audience. Apart from her TV show which she hosts weekly, her short film, Intruder, streaming on YouTube is a must-watch.
