The 'Edit Button', one of the most desired additions, has been announced by the popular microblogging platform Twitter. However, the new function will only be available to paying Twitter users. Users have been requesting this functionality for a very long time. Users will be able to alter previously published tweets using this capability.
Twitter Blue, a paid membership service from Twitter, posted a picture of an "Edit Button." Well well well, look what we've been testing, they remarked when posting the image to the official account. Through its official account, Twitter, on the other hand, also announced the addition of the feature. The microblogging site wrote, "if you see an edited Tweet it's because we're testing the edit button, this is happening and you'll be okay."
Users will be able to amend their tweet even after it has been posted thanks to the feature. Users will have a total of 30 minutes to modify lengthy and mistake-filled tweets. Users have half an hour to make modifications to a tweet before it sparks a reaction or blows up and goes viral for the wrong reasons. A number of people have already noticed the edit feature, which was being created. All Twitter users were still unsure of how the feature will function at that moment. The question of how the original text of the modified tweet might be interpreted was also brought up.
Users will be able to compose a fresh tweet with different content thanks to this capability, claims reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong. However, a label (with an icon of a small pen or pencil) will show at the bottom of the tweet to make sure Twitter users are aware that the message has been modified from the original. Simply "Edited" will be written in the label's text. According to TechCrunch, users can access the tweet's modification history by simply clicking on the word "Edited" in a tweet.
According to a report from The Verge from the year 2020, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said the company would "probably never" provide an "edit button" feature.
