New Delhi: Two agriculture bills have been passed amidst uproar and sloganeering by the opposition from the Rajya Sabha. These Bills have been passed by voice vote. In the Rajya Sabha, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar made a statement in favour of the bill. In the meantime, disgruntled opposition MPs lashed out. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda have expressed happiness over the passage of the bill.
JP Nadda said, the PM Modi-led government has freed farmers from the injustice that has been continued for the last 70 years. The opposition parties are anti-farmer. Instead of being part of the process, they have tried to disrupt the liberation of the farmers. The BJP condemns their act. Rajnath Singh said, "It is heartening to say that after the Rajya Sabha has passed, two bills capable of bringing about comprehensive reforms in the agriculture sector, the Farmers Production Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Agreement Bill have got the approval of Parliament. '
The Defence Minister further said, "Under the guidance of PM Modi and under the guidance of Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, a strong base of 'self-reliant agriculture' has been laid today. After the two MLAs are in Parliament, a new India will be written for growth and development in the agriculture sector. '
