Visakhapatnam: The Venkateshwara Temple in Andhra Pradesh has been the centre of faith among devotees for many years. Two Indian-origin industrialists living in the US have donated Rs 14 crore to the famous Lord Venkateshwara Temple near Tirumala. The industrialists have given this donation on condition of anonymity.

A temple official has reported this. According to the official, the donor made the donation on condition of anonymity. Businessmen have made these donations at the Goddess Sri Varlakshmi Vratam festival. The official said that he first performed puja with his family at the temple and later gave a demand draft of Rs 14 crore to the special officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), the administrator of the 2,000-year-old temple.

Devotees urged temple officials to use the fund for various public welfare trusts run by the TTD. Both the devotees have donated such a huge amount to the temple for the second year in a row. The official said that last year, the two American businessmen had donated Rs 13.5 crore to the temple, though they had also stipulated anonymity at the time.
