Bangalore: Two former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs in Karnataka have met senior Congress leader and former CM Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. Both the former MLA of BJP, who met the Congress leader, lost the 2018 elections. BJP leader Raju Kagee, MLA from Kagwad and Ashok Pujari, MLA from Gokak, met Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru on Monday.

Now they are seeking tickets from Congress for the upcoming assembly by-election. However, did Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar promise MLAs a ticket or not? It is not clear. Significantly, the voting dates have been announced for the by-elections in 15 seats of the Karnataka Assembly. Election Commissioner of Karnataka Sanjeev Kumar told on Sunday that voting will be held on December 5 and the results will come on December 9. With this, the Election Code of Conduct has come into force in the entire state today i.e. from 11 November.

Due to the bye-elections in 15 assembly constituencies in Karnataka on December 5, the model code of conduct has been implemented in these areas from Monday. By-elections are being held after 14 Congress rebels and three rebel MLAs of the Janata Dal-Secular (JDS), who were disqualified from their assembly constituencies in July, demonstrated against the earlier coalition government.
