BHUBANESWAR: Two people in Odisha have been diagnosed with swine flu, according to a health department official.
The H1N1 virus is transmitted in a 38-year-old male and a 28-year-old woman. Both were being treated at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, and their conditions were stable now, according to Niranjan Mishra, Director of Public Health.
Both patients had no prior travel history. He assured her that there was no need to be concerned.
The virus is most commonly identified during the pre-monsoon and winter seasons. Despite the fact that no swine flu cases were reported in Odisha last year, the virus still remains, said the public Health official.
In Odisha, the first case of swine flu was recorded in 2009, followed by 414 positive cases and 54 deaths in 2017. According to sources, no such cases have been documented in the last two years, during the Covid-19 period.
