The photo of two women kissing in front of Italy's deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has gone viral on the internet. 

According to the report, the two women approached the politician pretending that they were supporters of his party. When Salvini posed for the selfie, the women photobombed by turning towards each other to kiss.  The women, identified as Gaia and Matilde, shared the photo on their social media accounts with a caption that translated to "Hello friend".

Salvini also shared the selfie and captioned it as, "Greetings, peace and good sisters."

The photo was clicked when Salvini was attending a rally at Caltanissetta in Sicily in support of a fellow member of ruling League party's bid for mayor, according to a report in the Independent.

The photo did not take much time to go viral. Netizens have lauded the women's attempt at the peaceful protest.

 Matteo Salvini, the leader of the Lega Nord Party who serves as Italy's minister of the interior and deputy prime minister. Lega is a far-right party with an anti-immigration agenda. Recently Salvini addressed an anti-LGBT and anti-abortion group in the city of Verona.
