Most of us have headaches from time to time. There can be plenty of reasons for having headaches. But what if you are suffering from chronic headaches on a daily basis. There are different types of headaches that may differ with reasons.
Chronic refers to how often headaches occur and how long the condition lasts. If the headache doesn’t go easily and gives you trouble regularly, then you must consult your doctor immediately.
Factors that can cause a headache:
1. Tension
Headache is often caused by tension and excessive stress load. It mostly starts from the middle of the day. A person, having such a headache, feels stiff around their head and constant pain in both sides of the head. Also, this pain may gradually lead to the neck. This ache usually lasts for a few hours, but can give you trouble for several days.
2. Migraine
Migraine occurs on one side or both sides of the head. You may have a pulsating, throbbing sensation. During this pain, one may also experience sensitivity to light or sound, nausea or vomiting, and disturbances in vision.
3. Thunderclap headache
This headache can cause extreme pain that comes on suddenly, like a clap of thunder.When the pain occurs, it can reach its maximum intensity within 1 minute and can last longer than 5 minutes. It is an indication of a life-threatening condition.
4. Cluster headache
Cluster headache occurs in patterns. It may occur from 1 to 8 times per day which can last for 15 minutes to 3 hours. There is severe pain on one side. This headache also involves pain around the eyes, drooping eyelid, redness in the eye, blocked or runny nose, facial sweating.
5. Rebound headache
A person if takes excessive medicines and too very frequently to treat a headache senses this pain. Other symptoms of it are nasal congestion, sleeplessness, restlessness, neck pain, etc.
