New Delhi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has banned the export of wheat procured from India outside the country. Not only this, india's export of wheat flour imported into uae has also been banned, however, the ban is for four months. This stop will apply to all types of wheat hard wheat, normal wheat, soft wheat and flour. The UAE's state news agency WAM issued a statement saying that there is a ban on the export of Indian wheat or flour imported into the UAE outside the country before May 13.
The Economy Ministry said that the decision was taken due to disruption of trade due to international developments. The ministry said India had approved the export of wheat to the UAE for domestic consumption and the decision has been taken keeping this in mind. At the same time, the ministry said that the companies will now have to get the approval of the government for exporting wheat or flour outside india, which has not been taken from India. The report said that companies will now have to submit to the Ministry of Economy all the documents and files that contain data confirming the country of the wheat consignment to be exported, date of transaction and other necessary information.
In such a situation, the companies will be issued an export permit by the government, which will have a period of 30 days. The UAE government's move means that many countries (mostly rich and developed countries) will no longer be able to buy Indian wheat from it, which they used to do earlier. It will also curb india's wheat hoarding.
