Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took charge in ensuring the implementation of various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit. He engaged with senior government officials, urging them to strive for the execution of as many proposals as possible by February 15. Regular reviews, led by the Chief Secretary weekly and personally by the Chief Minister monthly, will monitor the progress of these agreements.

The state government inked a total of 1,779 MoUs valued at Rs 3.56 lakh crore during this month's investors summit. These agreements spanned across different sectors, comprising 157 MoUs valued at Rs 1.03 lakh crore in energy, 658 MoUs worth Rs 78 thousand crore in industries, 437 MoUs worth Rs 47,646 crore in tourism, 175 agreements in horticulture and food processing amounting to Rs 19,260 crore, 62 agreements in housing and urban development valued at Rs 41,947 crore, 39 agreements in health and environment worth Rs 25,785 crore, and 77 pacts in AYUSH and wellness totaling Rs 17,058 crore.

In a bid to facilitate these investments, the government is actively establishing the Uttarakhand Society for Promotion of Investment, Startup, and Entrepreneurship (UK-SPISE). This move aims to streamline and ease the process for investors within the state. The Chief Minister emphasized the need to draft a robust action plan that enhances market opportunities for local products. Additionally, he stressed on giving particular attention to investment proposals within the solar energy sector and encouraged efforts to involve more youths in self-employment under the solar energy policy.

District magistrates will play an integral role in overseeing investment-related affairs within their respective districts. The CM specifically highlighted the importance of progressing investment proposals in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. He directed the inclusion of district magistrates virtually in the subsequent meetings pertaining to these matters. Furthermore, aligning with the Prime Minister's directives, the Chief Minister urged expeditious action toward expanding Dehradun and Pantnagar airports and constructing a convention center in Rishikesh or another suitable location.
