KIEV: According to the National Bank of Ukraine's financial stability report from June 2022, the total announced and actual aid given to Ukraine by international partners since the "invasion" began by Russia is USD30 billion.

"Significant financial assistance is also given directly to the budget by Ukraine's allies. As of mid-June, more than USD7 billion had been loaned by the IMF, the European Union, the  European Investment Bank, the World Bank, and foreign governments since the start of the conflict. About USD30 billion in financial aid has been announced and provided overall "The statement reads.

Up to one-third of the available funds are specified to be non-repayable grants, with the remaining amounts consisting of low-interest loans and credit guarantees. According to the Ukrinform news agency, this funding is the major way to make up the state budget shortfall that resulted from Russian military intervention.

The National Bank made it clear that international aid and its prompt delivery will continue to play a crucial role in supporting social and defence spending as well as economic support. To address the budget deficit in particular, USD5 billion each month is required.

Both the US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Canadian Deputy Prime Minister for Finance Christia Freeland have previously confirmed their commitment to continuing to support Ukraine.
