KIEV, Ukraine: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about defence cooperation.
After the meeting, Zelensky tweeted, "Further defence cooperation was addressed."
On the eve of major international events, the parties also coordinated the next actions in countering "Russia's aggression against Ukraine," Zelensky said on Tuesday.
The Ukrainian president also commended Canada for its leadership in assisting Ukraine. Anita Anand, Canada's defence minister, stated last month that Canada would provide Ukraine with more military help, including over 20,000 artillery rounds of 155 mm NATO standard ammunition.
On Wednesday, the Ukraine Defense Contact Group is scheduled to convene at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
