New Delhi, The Income Tax officers have reportedly recovered an unaccounted wealth of around Rs 130 crore after conducting raids at party legislator Kartar Singh Tanwar’s house.

The 54-year-old Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Legislative Assembly, is a property dealer and represents the Mehrauli constituency of South Delhi.

Tanwar, who was earlier with the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), termed the raid as “witch-hunt” by the BJP-NDA government.

According to tax officials, Singh has huge amounts of assets, which he cannot account for. This has come to light after they raided Kartar Singh’s residence as well as offices, last month.

There are 20 companies of Kartar which is under IT scanner.

Responding to the I-T raids, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said, “Modiji, you deploy the CBI, Delhi Police, IB, ED and Income Tax, but we will keep doing our work.”

Other leaders of AAP too had jumped to Singh’s defence, blaming Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of targeting them unfairly.

Arvind Kejriwal has been accusing PM Modi of indulging in vendetta politics.
