Niamey: Recently about 7,000 people have fled to western Niger where ISIS militants killed 89 soldiers earlier this month. Giving this information, the UN refugee agency UNHCR has said that due to insecurity and fear in the region, the UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, is finding it very difficult to help the people.
According to information received from the sources, it has been learned that the statement issued by the UNHCR said that after the attack on the city of Chinegodar, about 20 kilometres from the Malian border, it included 1,000 refugees. About seven thousand citizens have been forced to flee their homes.
It is also being said that terrorists are abducting people and their properties are being looted. Migrating people need food, water, shelter and security.
