Agartala: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Tripura on Friday on a two-day visit. Sources in the state government have said that the Union Finance Minister will hold a meeting with high officials of the state government and visit Mohanpur sub-division of West Tripura district to review emergency assistance projects and will set up Gandhigram COVID Vaccination Center in the same district. Will visit Thereafter, the Union Finance Minister will inaugurate 11 projects totaling Rs 151 crore on August 27”, the official said.

Projects include- 132 kV sub-station at Mohanpur, constructed under World Bank funded North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project (NERPSIP) (Rs 38.03 crore), 80,000 functional provided under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Opening of domestic tap connection. With 132 drinking water supply schemes- the cost of the project is Rs.66 crores. She will inaugurate 7 projects under RIDF/SPA project costing Rs 65 crore and three surface water treatment plants at Rampur, Pragati and Badharghat funded by ADB under North East Zone Urban Development Project (NERUDP) project costing Rs 20 crore. Will inaugurate .

Later in the evening, the Finance Minister will visit the house of a freedom fighter at Badharghat on the outskirts of Agartala. On the second day, Sitaraman will visit Tripurasundari temple to worship Devi Tripurasundari. On her way back to Agartala, the senior leader will visit Dashrath Deb Memorial School Ground at Killa Gram Parishad in Gomti district where she will hold a meeting and interact with women self-help groups and in the afternoon she will leave for Delhi.
