Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently inaugurated the Covid Field Hospital at Rajiv Gandhi Institute in Bengaluru. He was accompanied by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. After the inauguration of Covid Field Hospital, the Union Health Minister said, "Such field hospitals can be helped in times of disaster. Such field hospitals can be useful when there is no place to accommodate patients in hospitals.''

Mansukh Mandaviya said the hospital will serve the poor citizens of the state. In fact, Mansukh Mandaviya along with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated the Gastroenterology Sciences and Organ Transplant Institute in Bengaluru today. Praising PM Modi on the occasion, the Union Health Minister said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi linked health to development which is a big deal. Health has always been linked to physical treatment in the country. It needs to be looked at as a whole. How can a country be healthy whose citizens are not healthy?''

Let me tell you that earlier last Saturday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and State Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi on Friday. Here, he demanded additional allocation of funds under the National Health Mission (NHM) for the up-gradation of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the State. Chief Minister Bommai also said, "The Health Minister has assured us that he will give us more vaccines if needed. We have a stock of 51 lakh doses and a special drive is being carried out. We are focusing on giving second doses to the people. The Centre has assured full cooperation for this campaign.''
