New Delhi: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed his disappointment with Vistara Airlines when he shared a photo showing a Vistara aircraft cabin littered with discarded water bottles and leftover food. He remarked that such conditions are not the best way to welcome passengers on board an aircraft.

Mr. Chandrasekhar chose a Vistara flight for his return journey after attending the AI Safety Summit in the UK. While the flight from London to Delhi went smoothly, he found the overall experience marred by the quality of service and the state of the cabin.

Taking to social media, he wrote, "So I decided to fly Vistara from London to Delhi last night. It was a nice, new, clean 787 aircraft with a very smooth flight, but I was saddened by the service and the state of the cabin. Food and litter are not the best way to welcome visitors to India or to compete with other global carriers." He concluded his post with the hashtag "disappointed."

In response to Mr. Chandrasekhar's post, one user commented, "Sir, last week my sister flew from the USA on Air India, and the situation was similar. She was not even provided a pair of headphones for the long flight, and the attendants did not respond even after pressing the help button."

Another person shared a similar experience, stating, "I had the same experience with @airvistara and also @GoFirstairways."

Statement from Vistara:
After Mr. Chandrasekhar's post gained attention, Vistara issued a statement: "Hi Rajeev, we want to express our regret for the inconvenience you experienced, as this does not align with the experience we aim to provide our customers. At Vistara, we take pride in offering a superior experience to our customers at every touchpoint." They continued, "We understand that on this occasion, we did not adhere to our standard cleaning procedures. We appreciate your understanding, and we view this as an isolated incident. Rest assured, we have brought this concern to the attention of the relevant department for a thorough review and to make the necessary improvements. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we are committed to delivering a better experience in the future."
