The Trailer of one of the most awaited films of the year 2023 Rajkumar Santoshi ‘s 'Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh', has dropped by the makers. Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh will release in cinemas near you on 26th January 2023 on Republic Day. The film shows the ideological war between the two personalities Gandhi and Godse.
Rajkumar Santoshi in a recent interview opens up about the film. He said that he was not taking sides of any one of them. He is just presenting the two sides. The veteran filmmaker said, ,"I sympathise with both Gandhi and Godse. As much credit as Gandhi got, he also faced allegations. To date, people ask why he couldn’t be more assertive about saving Bhagat Singh from the death sentence.”
He further added, “Similarly, during his trial after killing Gandhi, Godse gave a statement in court, which was curbed for decades. Until recently, no one knew what he had said. I feel that was unjust to him. People should know what he had to say in his defence. The idea behind this film is to give a platform to Godse to express his viewpoint, and also to Gandhi to respond to the allegations. We are presenting both sides without being partial to anyone.” The filmmaker also insisted that he was not siding with any ideology, but wanted to make the film "with honesty".
The movie is based on the most important story of freedom struggle, the fight of ideologies. It gives the audience a glance into this war of ideologies between Gandhi and Godse. Chinmay Mandlekar and Deepak Antani as Godse and Gandhi ideologies presentation on screen will give your goosebumps. Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh also marks the debut of Tanisha Santoshi, daughter of Santoshi.
'Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh features Chinmay Mandlekar will be seen playing Nathuram Godse in this Rajkumar Santoshi directorial. Chinmay impressed the masses with his exemplary performance as Farooq Malik Bitta in The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The film also features Arif Zakariya, and Pawan Chopra. The movie will also feature debutant Anuj Saini in a pivotal role.
