Due to covid-19, the way has been cleared to start tourism industry and religious activities which have been closed for almost two and a half months in Uttarakhand. The central government has given concession for tourism and pilgrimage activities from June 8, which will also bring Chardham Yatra back on track. The government's preparations for Chardham Yatra are complete. After receiving the SOP of the Center from June 8, the government will start the activities in a phased manner. In the first phase of Lockdown 5.0 (Unlock-1) by the Central Government to open religious places, hotel restaurants, hospitality services, shopping malls from June 8. Is allowed. Due to Corona epidemic, tourism and religious activities are completely closed in the state from the second week of March.

Apart from this, the tourism industry has lost crores of rupees. Now, with the concessions given by the center to the tourism industry and pilgrimage, tourism businessmen have breathed a sigh of relief. Tourism is the backbone of the state's economy. The Char Dham Yatra, which runs for six months, entails a turnover of about 12 thousand crores. A proposal was sent to the Center to open tourism and pilgrimage activities by the state government. At the same time, the government and the tourism department are preparing to start the Chardham Yatra. After the SOP of the Center, the state government will decide on the Chardham Yatra. There are 3439 hotels, 20,000 restaurants and hotels in the state.

There are more than 600 adventure-related businessmen. About one lakh people are associated with the tourism business in the state. With the commencement of Chardham Yatra and other tourism activities, these closed industries will get a breather. The guidelines of the Center regarding Unlock-1 will be followed. The state will get benefit of the concessions of the center. The government's preparations for starting Chardham Yatra and tourism activities are complete. After getting the SOP of the Center, Chardham Yatra and other tourism activities will be started in a phased manner in the state.
