Unnao case: Rape victim's uncle gets parole, will return to jail after wife's funeral

Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court today heard the parole plea of the uncle imprisoned in Rae Bareli jail of Unnao rape victim. The court approved his parole to attend his wife's funeral. After the funeral, the uncle of the rape victim will have to return to Rae Bareli jail.

The victim's uncle, aunt, and driver were killed on the spot in a road accident in Rae Bareli on Sunday. While the rape victim and her lawyer have been seriously injured, they are undergoing treatment at Lucknow Trauma Centre. The family members of the victim had been sitting on a dharna since Tuesday morning for the parole of the jailed uncle.

The family members of the victim said that strict action should be taken against the accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar at the earliest. Family members have said that they will continue to dharna till the demand is met. The SP delegation reached the Trauma Centre, where they handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh for the treatment of the victim and Rs 10 lakh for the treatment of the victim and for the treatment of the lawyer. The National Commission for Women has also reached the Trauma Centre to find out the recent move of the victim.
