UTTAR PRADESH: In a groundbreaking move set to take place during Diwali, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to materialize investment proposals totaling Rs. 10 lakh crore ($137 billion). The Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit-2023 has received an overwhelming response, with proposals worth a staggering Rs. 37 lakh crore flooding in.

Leading the charge is Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, the Minister for Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI, and Investment Promotion in Uttar Pradesh.  Proposals worth Rs. 10 lakh crore are slated for implementation during this event, with a substantial portion of Rs. 4.68 lakh crore already prepared for action. Nandi emphasized that more proposals are in the pipeline and will be added to the list of projects to be unveiled.

Elaborating on the success of the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit-2023, it was announced that proposals worth a staggering Rs. 37 lakh crore were received during the event held from February 10 to 12, 2023, in Lucknow.

The Minister also took pride in highlighting the state's accomplishments, with Rs. 4 lakh crore investment proposals from the Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit-2018 having been successfully implemented. Uttar Pradesh has now emerged as the most sought-after investment destination, particularly in the development of airports and expressways.

An impressive feat for the state is that it currently boasts 37.7% of the expressways in the country, a number expected to rise to 50% as seven more expressways are in the pipeline, according to Nandi.

To further streamline industrial development, the state government has appointed a nodal officer to identify potential land from closed industrial units that can be repurposed for setting up new industries. Among the locations earmarked for development are Scooters India Limited, Lucknow, and lands in Pratapgarh, Bareilly, and various other places.

With the successful One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, artisans and entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh are celebrating global recognition, with their products making a mark in international markets. The state's exports have surged to an impressive Rs. 1.56 lakh crore, marking a significant achievement for the region's economic growth and global influence.
