Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, 58 seats spread over 11 districts are going to polls in the first phase of assembly elections. The voting will continue from 7 am to 6 pm. Due to Corona, the Election Commission has extended the voting time by one hour. In the first phase, the fate of 623 candidates will be decided. Out of the 58 seats, 12 seats are sensitive. These seats include Khairagarh, Fatehabad, Agra South, Bah, Chhata, Mathura, Sardhana, Meerut city, Chhaprauli, Baraut, Baghpat and Kairana. In the first phase, 898 localities and 5535 polling centres have been kept keen.

According to the Election Commission, an average of 7.93% polling has been recorded till 9 pm. The Election Commission said that out of the 58 seats, no serious complaint has been received in any of the seats. Neither has an incident like booth capturing been reported from anywhere. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has alleged that CM Yogi is under pressure. RSS has pressed for this to do so. Tikait further said that he has his own report that he is getting 140 seats and he is engaged in increasing something. Tikait said the BJP will get between 140 and 165 seats, which is their own report. But they are still trying to ensure that power should not go away, no matter what. People are angry with these and are not voting, but they are engaged in the mess.

At the same time, Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate Suhas LY exercised his franchise at 8.30 am. District Election Officer and District Magistrate Suhas LY have appealed to all voters to cast their votes after casting his vote.
