Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati today has expressed condemnation for taking action against farmers who burn stubble in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. He has made his point through a tweet. Earlier Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had instructed the officials to ensure that there is no misconduct or harassment of farmers in the process of burning stubble.

Today, Mayawati has made a tweet and in that tweet, she writes, "Atrocities on farmers, especially in the guise of burning stubble here, are extremely condemnable due to pollution in Uttar Pradesh. Whereas before taking any action in this matter, there is also a need to make them aware and provide the necessary assistance. This is the demand of the BSP." Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said on Friday," The farmers should be constantly made aware of the adverse effects on pollution caused by burning of straw. "

He directed the Agriculture Department to 'organize awareness programs for farmers in this regard'. According to a government statement issued, he said, "it should also be ensured that there is no misconduct or harassment of farmers on the action of burning stubble." Akhilesh Yadav also tweeted on the action of farmers before Mayawati. He wrote in tweeting, 'Tell the dignitaries who put farmers in jails in the name of burning stubble in the name of environmental pollution when political polluters will be jailed. The farmers will now dig the BJP's field '.
