Kanpur, in an incident, clashes broke out between two groups of students over a money dispute, after which five students of a government university were suspended from its hostel.

PK Upadhayay, Dean of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology said, “Rahul Gautam and Shiv Kant were suspended for one year while Kaushlendra Singh, Krishan Kumar Singh and Mohit Kumar have been suspended for six months from the university hostel”.

After a high-level meeting considering the issue, fine of Rs 10,000 imposed on each.
