Dehradun: In response to reports of pilgrims facing challenges due to overcrowding during the Char Dham Yatra, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced plans to develop a master plan for Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham to ensure smoother journeys for devotees in the future.

Dhami, addressing the media, acknowledged the doubling of devotees participating in the Char Dham Yatra compared to previous years. He assured that efforts are underway to make all necessary arrangements to minimize difficulties encountered by devotees during the pilgrimage.

The Chief Minister appealed to devotees to complete their registrations before embarking on the journey and emphasized the importance of adhering to this process. He expressed regret over the recent challenges faced by pilgrims due to overcrowding but assured that measures are being taken to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience. Dhami also mentioned his personal involvement in addressing these issues, stating his directive to officials to resolve ground-level problems and his own visits to assess the situation firsthand.

Highlighting the significant increase in tourist numbers this year, Dhami assured that steps are being taken to facilitate the completion of worship for every devotee. He reiterated the appeal for devotees to adhere to the registration process, emphasizing its importance in preventing difficulties for both pilgrims and the system.

Meanwhile, authorities have cautioned pilgrims against attempting fraudulent registrations for the Char Dham Yatra. Uttarkashi Police issued a warning, stating that necessary action will be taken against those found engaging in such activities. They confirmed that the ongoing pilgrimage to Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham is progressing smoothly without disruptions.

Dr. Vishakha Ashok Bhadane, SP Rudraprayag, urged all devotees to register themselves before visiting Shri Kedarnath Dham to ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage experience.

The Char Dham Yatra, comprising visits to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, holds significant religious importance for Hindus. It is a pilgrimage to these four sacred sites, with "char" denoting four and "dham" representing religious destinations, according to the Uttarakhand tourism official website.
