Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has released the list of public holidays for the year 2023. In fact, according to the list of holidays released on Tuesday, there will be a total of 25 public holidays next year. Not only this but apart from this, there will be 31 restricted holidays in the year. Let us tell you that it has been clearly stated in the calendar of holidays that if any festival, national festival and birthdays of great men fall together, then in such a situation, there will be no separate public holiday. Along with this, on the occasion of Dussehra next year, employees of offices with five working days a week will get four days off.

In the year 2023, the holiday of Mahanavami will be on Monday, 23 October and the holiday of Vijayadashami will be on Tuesday, 24 October. Yes and in this way, there will be four days of holiday on Dussehra including Saturday and Sunday. Along with this, the General Administration Department has released the lists of public and local holidays to be held in the year 2023. Next year, Good Friday on the 7th of April, the birthday of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on the 14th of April and Buddha Purnima on the 5th of May will be on Friday. If seen like this, on these three holidays, the employees of the five-day offices will get holidays for three consecutive days. Let us tell you that Gandhi Jayanti on the 2nd of October, Guru Nanak Jayanti/Kartik Purnima on the 27th of November and Christmas on the 25th of December falling on Monday. On these three occasions also, the personnel of the five-day offices will be able to get leave for three consecutive days.

Along with this, next year on November 12 (Sunday) being a public holiday for Diwali and Govardhan Puja on Monday, the employees of the five-day offices will get three days off. Apart from this, if the employees of the offices with five working days take one day off on November 14, then they will get five consecutive days off till Bhaiyaduj on November 15. With this, in the year 2023, five holidays are falling on Saturday or Sunday.

Hazrat Ali's birthday is on 5th February and Diwali on 12th November will be celebrated on Sunday. Whereas Mahashivaratri on February 18, Eid-ul-Fitr on April 22 and Moharram on July 29 are Saturdays. However, the festivals of Eid-ul-Fitr and Muharram will be celebrated on the basis of moon sightings. On the other hand, as per the order issued by the Governor, public holidays as specified will be considered public holidays. Along with this, if any festival, national festival and birth date of great men occur together on the same date, then in such a case public holiday will not be declared on a separate day.
