Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board has withdrawn its order to close all schools and colleges in Gautam Buddh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts adjoining Delhi by November 21 due to air pollution. This was reported late on Wednesday night. The Pollution Control Board has also withdrawn its order to close educational institutions in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts.

Meanwhile, only half of the staff will be called to government and semi-government offices in Noida. In Noida also, the ban on construction works on the lines of Delhi has been continued. The introduction of diesel generators in the district has also been banned. However, emergency services have been exempted during this period. It may be recalled that several important decisions were taken at a meeting of the district environment committee, plantation committee and district wetland committee led by Gautam Buddh Nagar district officer (DM) Suhas LY on Wednesday.

In Bulandshahr also, District Collector CP Singh has issued an order to close down all government and private educational institutions in the district. But now that order has been withdrawn. State that the order was taken in view of the increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR.
