Lucknow: The noise of campaigning for the first phase of civic elections in Uttar Pradesh will stop in a few hours. Every political party is campaigning in the UP civic elections, but the Congress leaders are nowhere to be seen. Not only Priyanka Gandhi Vadra or Rahul Gandhi, other big leaders of Congress have also almost kept distance from the civic elections. Rahul-Priyanka are campaigning in the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka. They haven't even come to peep in UP yet.

Both the Congress stalwarts may not have come to UP, but CM Yogi Adityanath keeps attacking Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in his meetings by calling them Didi-Bhaiyya pair. Congressmen also call them as didi-bhaiya. In such a situation, the Congress candidates in the UP civic elections are beating the ground on their own without Didi and Bhaiya. At the same time, on behalf of the BJP, CM Yogi himself has taken charge of the campaign. They are holding meetings in four to five districts every day. Yogi himself is holding rallies in Lucknow and Gorakhpur. Along with Yogi's ministers, MPs and MLAs are also campaigning for BJP candidates. Deputy CM Keshav Prasad and Brajesh Pathak are also visiting one or the other district every day. Apart from addressing three to four meetings in the districts, both the deputy CMs are also interacting with the public.

On the other hand, party chief Akhilesh Yadav is also seen active from the Samajwadi Party (SP). He has taken command of the campaign in Lucknow after Santakbirnagar, Gorakhpur. Akhilesh's road show is also going to be held in Saharanpur. Azam Khan is also campaigning heavily in Muslim areas. At the same time, SP MPs, MLAs and former ministers have also put efforts to make their candidates win. BSP supremo Mayawati has also become active, although she is not campaigning at the ground level, but her big leaders are also going among the people. The shortcoming is visible only in the Congress, which has entered the election fray with only the local unit without big leaders.
