LUCKNOW: On a war footing, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to form water committees and ensure that water seeping from pipelines is conserved by building rainwater harvesting pits. The goal is to reuse rainwater that has been saved.

According to a government spokeswoman, under the 'Atal Bhujal Yojana,' directives have been sent to concerned departments to hold meetings and training programmes in 550 Gram Panchayats in 26 development blocks in 10 designated districts of the state. The Yogi Adityanath government has resolved to aggressively extend groundwater conservation initiatives across the state in its second innings.

Namami Gange and the Rural Water Supply Department have been entrusted with this task.

On a war footing, it has been determined to speed up programmes to finish village to village water conservation measures.

People will be made aware of how to conserve water and reuse it, according to a government spokesman. Meetings will be held and training courses will be organised in this regard. In several districts, the state government is assuring the supply of potable drinking water as well as water conservation.

Work on the 'Khet Tal Scheme' is progressing at a quick rate to ensure that farm water returns to the land and roof water returns to the soil.
