There's buzz around the potential launch of Google's Pixel 8a, slated for May this year. Initially thought to be a mid-range device, recent speculation hints at a higher price point compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, especially in the European Union.

Reports from Winfuture.de suggest the Pixel 8a might start at EUR 570 (around Rs. 51,000) for the base model with 128GB storage. The 256GB variant could be priced at EUR 630 (approximately Rs. 56,000). These prices, if true, mark a significant bump from the Pixel 7a's launch price of EUR 499 (about Rs. 45,000).

The Pixel 8a is expected to come in 128GB and 256GB storage options, and in four colors: bay (light blue), mint (light green), obsidian (black), and porcelain (beige). Whether all colors will be available for both storage configurations remains uncertain.

Compared to its predecessor launched in India at Rs. 43,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, the Pixel 8a might compete with devices like the OnePlus 12R, Nothing Phone 2, and Galaxy S23 FE.

Rumors suggest Google may unveil the Pixel 8a during its May I/O event. The phone is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and run on Google's Tensor G3 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM, as per Gadgets 360.

Expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 27W wired fast charging support, the Pixel 8a could measure 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9mm. However, these details are yet to be confirmed by Google.
