The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Main exam for 2024 starts today, September 20. Over eight lakh candidates are expected to participate in this crucial stage, which is the second step in the selection process for central services and government posts.

UPSC Main 2024: Schedule and Timings

The exam will take place in two sessions each day. The morning session runs from 9 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon session is scheduled from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

21 September: General Studies Paper I (Morning), General Studies Paper II (Afternoon)
22 September: General Studies Paper III (Morning), General Studies Paper IV (Afternoon)
28 September: Paper A (Indian Language - Morning), Paper B (English - Afternoon)
29 September: Optional Subject Paper I (Morning), Optional Subject Paper II (Afternoon)

Important Guidelines for Candidates

Candidates must bring their e-admit card, pen, pencil, photo ID proof, and any additional items as specified in the exam instructions. It is advised to reach the examination venue on time to avoid any delays. Entry into the venue closes 30 minutes before the start of each session, as per UPSC guidelines.
